INITIATION OF PLATO - FREEMASONRY AND THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS

Book Details + Condition: The Philosophical Research Society (Los Angeles, CA). First Edition, 1967. Softcover. 32 pages. Manly P. Hall's essay was included in the second edition of his book, Freemasonry and the Ancient Egyptians. Written as a play, Hall details Plato as an initiate of the State Mysteries, turning to the ancient Egyptians. According to the ancient accounts, he was initiated at Sais by the priests of the Osirian rites. Freemason John Yarker translated the work from the original French. The rite forms the prologue to a Masonic comedy in three acts entitled 'The Freemason' - which was printed in Paris in 1867.

A very scarce copy, with firm binding; light shelf wear to covers, with some fading to front and rear extremities; interior is clean and free of markings.
